TASTE THE TRADITIONAL SEMLA

"Meet @frikyrkanflatan Lena Frisell" - 11 April at 7pm in Prästgårdssalen

Meet Lena Frisell, chairman in EKHO (ecumenical christian homosexuals) Sthlm, owner of the Instagram account @frikyrkoflatan, lecturer in norm critical science of education with focus on LBGTQ-questions within the church.
In the anthology "Välkomna varandra!" (Welcome each other!) she tells her story of coming out as a non-heterosexual in a evangelical christian environment. Come and share her story!

PILGRIMAGE

 21 April

Join us for an all day pilgrimage. We will walk along some of the most beautiful parts of Upplandsleden.

It´s a 13km walk and we´ll walk in a slow pace. The trail is easy walked, flat terrain, along paths and will take all day.

We'll take the 09.13am train from Uppsala C towards Gävle. We'll meet at 09am on the plattform, after you have already bought your own ticket. We'll pay for the ticket back to Uppsala. It´s a 45-50 min trip. During the first half of the day we'll mostly be quite except short pauses when we will have time to reflect together.

Pack food and water for the whole day. Wear good shoes, it could get wet and muddy. Also wear non-tender clothes, bring sitting pad and rainwear.

TAIZÉ PRAYER

The Taizé Prayer is a meditative service with a lot of music, songs and prayer. If you want to contribute by lighting candles, practising a song or reading a text in any language of your choice, we would love to hear from you!

RAINBOW EVENINGS WITH GUEST TALK

➤ 14 February at 7 pm in Prästgårdssalen (next to Helga Trefaldighets Church)

"TO BE A HBTQ REFUGEE IN SWEDEN" WITH NAOME RUZINDAJNA.

Naome Ruzindana is born and raised in Rwanda and came to Sweden as a HBTQ refugee. Homosexuality is prohibited in Rwanda but despite that she came out officially and fought for HBTQ rights. After a while the situation became unbearable och she fled to Uganda and then Sweden a few years later. 

Naome has continued to fight for human rights and HBTQ rights and is the founder of the organisation "Find hope". Last summer she also arranged Gävle Pride which became a big success.

COMMUNION SERVICE

A service is held every Wednesday at 6 pm in Helga Trefaldighets Church. (map) 

Shapes, expressions, and a language that everybody can understand. Music and singing, important issues, bread and wine. Everyone is welcome regardless of former church experience.

THE GOSPEL CHOIR GOD TUNE

We meet on Tuesdays at 6.30–8.30 pm in Helga Trefaldighets Church.

Singing in a choir is a great way to socialize! The choir, which sings mainly gospel, is open to all students. We rehearse every Tuesday between 6.30–8.30 pm in the Helga Trefaldighets Church, next to the Cathedral. If you are interested, please contact us or just show up at the next session. There are no auditions and the choir is free of charge.

New year, new opportunities!!

Warm welcome to the Chaplaincy at the universities in Uppsala!

Regardless of whether this is your first semester or if you have been around for awhile, we are glad that you are here.

As you might have already noticed there is a lot to do as a student in Uppsala and we would like to show you a little bit of what we do.

The gospel choir God Tune have their first rehearsal on 23 January at 6.30-8.30 pm in Helga Trefaldighets Church and our services have already started. On Shrove Tuesday, 23 February we invite you to try the Swedish bun "Semla" and pay attention to Universal Day of Prayer for Students with prayers in English and performance by God Tune. 

We also hope that your are interested in visiting our Rainbow Evenings 14 February and 11 April. These are evenings where we want to spark conversation focusing on LGBTQ-related questions. Each evening will have a specifik theme and a guest we have invited. Find out more about the Rainbow Evenings and other happenings this spring on our website!

Welcome to our annual Christmas Service! Christmas hymns are performed by the student Christmas Choir together with the Academy Chamber Choir of Uppsala, led by Director Cantorum Stefan Parkman. Peter Högberg, principal at SLU, gives a speech. Students from the universities, Student unions and Nations and "studenternas fanborg" will participate as well during this evening.

Welcome to Uppsala!

Congratulations on being admitted to one of the universities in Uppsala! Regardless of whether this is your first semester or if you have been around for awhile, we are glad that you are here.

The summer is ending and autumn is just around the corner with a lot of events and gatherings.  The gospel choir God Tune have their first rehearsal on 19 September at 6.30-8.30 pm in Helga Trefaldighets Church and our services have already started.

Regarding our services, we have some great news. Starting on 19 September, we will meet on Tuesdays at 5.45 pm in Helga Trefaldighets Church for International Worship - 30 minutes of songs, prayers and readings in English. Afterwards, it is totally optional to join the choir God Tune. We hope to see you there and feel free to bring a friend! 

We also hope that your are interested in visiting our Rainbow Evenings 4 October and 29 November. These are evenings where we want to spark conversation focusing on LGBTQ-related questions. Events and gatherings this spring!

Hello everybody,

After a long winter spring is finally on its way, and with that we would like to inform you on what's happening at the University Chaplaincy this season. 

Amazing that so many were able to participate in this year's Festival of Theology, both as volunteers and visitors. Thank you for your participation! 

Our other activities are also in full swing. 

On Saturday, April 1 we invite you to an international Gospel Concert with God Tune and the Danish Vesterbro Gospel choir! The concert starts at 4 pm in Helga Trefaldighets Church. Free entrance of course!

  • At the Rainbow Evenings we talk about LGBT-related topics. Our final Rainbow Evening this semester is held at 19 pm, April 19 in Prästgårdssalen near Helga Trefaldighets Church.

It´s finally time for a new semester.

Finally the new semester is here and along with that a lot of exciting events. The gospel choir God Tune have their first rehearsal tonight on 17 Jan and our tranquil services have already started. We also have our rainbow evenings with discussions regarding LGBTQ-related topics on 15 Mar and 19 Apr.

As always our office is in the same house as the Uppsala Student Union and we're available if you want to book a confidential meeting with us.

On 25 September we invite you to this semesters first Eco-friendly food at 4pm in Kalmar Nation.
At Eco-friendly food we get to discuss sustainable development and different lifestyles while get to enjoy eco-friendly food that we cook together. The food is vegetarian and made from seasonal ingredients. The price is 20 kr per person and event, with a maximum of 12 people participating.
